Sweet and Crusty Apple dessert

If you love apples, this one is for you. Very tender, tasty and fast dessert, it is possible to replace apples with soft pears, but it is up to your experimenting skills :) People who you cook this for will love it. I hope you like it.

Ingredients:

  • Apples – 35 oz (1 kg)  - you can add up to 10% of berries if you wish
  • Lemon Juice – 1 tablespoon / 20 ml (add some rind too, from half a lemon)
  • Water – 1 3/4 oz (50 ml)
  • Sugar – 4-6 tablespoons
  • Butter (or margarine) – 1 3/4 oz (50 gr)
  • Flour – 3 1/2 oz (100 gr)
  • Baking Powder – half a tea spon
  • Rasins, vanila, cinamon – as you wish

Directions:

  • Peel the apples, cut in middle sized pieces, remove the pith
  • In the deep pan, stew the apples in 1 3/4 – 2 oz of water while adding some butter, 2-3 tables spoons of sugar or sugar powder – if the apples are sweet enough, 2 tablespoons of sugar would be more than enough, and, if they are two sour – feel free to add 3-4 table spoons. Regulate the sweetness at your taste. Stew till the apples are soft, but not yet falling apart. They should become a bit like candies, even a bit fried.
  • Letsprepare the crunch. Use a deep dish to mix flour, baking powder and soft butter (or margarine) along with 2-3 table spoons of sugar. Smash it all with your fingers, you should get something like crumbs finally.
  • Place baking paper on the baking tray, place apples, add rind, vanila, rasines, cinamon, etc. Add the crumbs on top, and place inside the oven.
  • Bake 15 minutes in 340F heated oven (170C), until the crumbs become reddish.
  • When opening the oven, don’t be overwhelmed with the smell – it will be beautiful!
